Pierre Willimann

Born in Geneva on September 30, 1990, Pierre Willimann is a Franco-Swiss guitarist, composer-performer, who graduated from the Haute École de Musique de Genève, where he was taught by Serbian-born American composer Dušan Bogdanović.
A classical and electric guitarist, he has performed over 350 concerts, solo and in group, in most European countries (France, Switzerland, Spain, Canary Islands, Romania, Iceland…), as well as in South and Central America (Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica).
He is currently preparing a doctorate in guitar performance at the UFRGS in Porto Alegre (Brazil), under the supervision of Dr Daniel Wolff. He has taken part in courses and masterclasses given by guitarists such as Eduardo Castañera, Dagoberto Linhares, Alvaro Pierri, Marco Tamayo, Vitaly Makukin, Luis Soria, Judicaël Perroy, Gaëlle Solal, Thu Le, Florian Larousse, Johan Fostier, Riber Oré, Paul Galbraith, Luigi Attademo, Carles Trepat, Alexis Vallejos and many others…
Pierre has won over 10 prizes in classical guitar competitions, including : Concours d’Excellence de Paris (CMF), Concours International de guitare d’Antony, Lugano International Music Competition (Switzerland), Concours du Festival International de Guitare en Béarn, European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY), Concours Suisse de Musique pour la Jeunesse (SJMW).
